A Melbourne man accused of driving down a freeway's emergency lane at 100km/h with his pet parrot perched on a windscreen wiper has been interviewed by police this morning.

Police and RSPCA inspectors executed a search warrant at a Chelsea Heights home at 10.20am today after Justin Lawther, 38, posted two videos online of himself driving with the parrot, named Angus, on the front of his vehicle.wiper motor

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed a man was interviewed by police in relation to several traffic offences. He was released pending further inquiries.
